The North American Motorcycle Alliance (NAMA) Contact Us

NAMA is an organization that is dedicated to promoting the Biker, Motorcyclist, and Motorcycle Enthusiast's experience and life style, utilizing its website RideNAMA.com as a vehicle for information on where, when and what to ride. The website is configured as a social network so that motorcycle riders can continue old relationships and foster new ones with like-minded people.

Although it is likely that people will come together in romantic way as a result of this site, that is not the intent of this Alliance. RideNAMA.com is not a dating website! We will leave the drama and heartache of match making to other websites, some of which advertise here.

NAMA, being an alliance of the different groups found in the motorcycling world, allows for the free exchange of information between individuals. With this site you can search for motorcycle events with one of the most powerful event search engines anywhere. We are committed to outnumbering any other site with regard to the amount of information for all types of events so that it easier for you to plan your day, weekend, week, month, or season. Our event platform is so powerful that is will continue to search even when you not logged in. With our Event Agents, you can set up multiple search criteria that will continue to monitor the events and notify you by email when a new one is posted.

It does not matter what type of bike you ride, if you ride on the front seat or the back, whether your ride style is touring, cruiser, cafe, dual sport, sport or vintage. Everyone has something to contribute. RideNAMA.com lets you list those places that are Biker Friendly or Motorcycle Friendly. It is our motto to "Ride Where Your Welcome." Don't put up with attitude when you're on the road. It is all about the ride and destination and with the right information provided by others, your experience can be that much better.

As we get the Alliance kicked off, we are interested in your opinions and we definitely want to hear about the areas you ride or visit: The good, the bad, and the "ugly". Comment on the places others have posted to help enrich the experience. Let us know what event(s) are important to you and the ones that you enjoy the best. Tell us and others where to ride and at what time of the year to ride. Let us know about the different equipment, supplies, or gear that you use and how it performs.

And of course this being an alliance of different groups with a common interest, don't forget to socialize. Chat with others and make friends. Schedule rides through the event manager that others in your area can participant in. It does not have to be a formal event or ride, it can be small and personal or you can include as many that want to participate. Pick a time and place, post it on the event calendar, and you decide who can view it; friends only, members only, or the public.

The North American Motorcycle Alliance encompasses both the United States of America and our friends to the north in Canada. Both countries have unlimited places to ride and enjoy this life style. If you have not signed up, then what's stopping you from becoming a member and growing with the Alliance?

Are you going somewhere new or looking for more points of interest in your area?

Search and add destinations with the Destination feature in order to find and share interesting, historical or beautiful destinations with other members.

You can search Destinations by description, location, and category. You can also browse a map of Destinations in order to find what you are looking for (Fig. 1) by going to the Locations tab within the Destinations page. Once you have located something you are interested in you can view the location, description, and photos of the Destination.

To add a Destination click New Destination on the Destinations page and fill in the necessary information so that other members can find the destination. If there is no address for your Destination, make sure the overview contains directions to the location. You may also add a Google map to your posting by following the Procedure for Adding a Map to a Destination.

In addition, you may edit or delete your posting at any time by first viewing the posting and then clicking  Edit Details Button or Delete Button, respectively.

Don't forget to save any changes to your posting.

Once you have created a Destination, you can add photos of the location. You can add/delete these photos at any time. If you have your own photos of a Destiantion posted by another member, you may add those photos to the Destintion posting. Additionaly, members may add thier own photos to a Destination which you post (depending on your privacy settings for the POI which are set when you create the POI).

A Road is a scenic, fun, or otherwise interesting route for motorcyclists. At rideNAMA.com, we encourage members to Add New Roads so that other riders can find new rides in their area. The Roads feature is also useful when planning a trip to an unfamiliar area.

Use our Wishlist feature for keeping track of Roads you are interested in.

You can search for a Road by Location.

Within a listing for a Road, you may find a description of the Road as well as the location, price, road surface, and difficulty. The listing may also specify resources along the route such as gas stations, lodging, and restaurants.

You can also find a Google Map of the exact route of the Road, given that the user who added the Road has included it.

For more information about Roads, or for help adding a new road yourself (including how to create a map of the route), see our Help Section on the Roads feature.

    addressFAQ

    Suggestions when Creating an Event:

Choose your country/city/state from the dropdown boxes; do not type in a country/city/state which is not already present in the dropdown box. If your country/city/state is not present in the dropdown box, choose the city which is closest to yours, or include this information in the Event Details.

This is the address of the Event Location. If the address is valid, and the correct Country, State, and City is entered along with it, a Google Map of the event will automatically be available when viewing the event. Also, the zip code will automatically be filled in.

    Once again, that's the:

    -Street Address

    -Country

    -State

    -City

    -Zip Code (auto-fill)

If these are entered so that Google Maps can recognize the address, a map will automatically be generated and available in the event posting.

If the address is not recognized by Google, the map may not display the exact location of the event. (Be careful, this may lead to confusion).

If there is no exact address associated with the event, enter the information you know. Don't forget to include enough information about the location in the Event Description so that users can find your event.

There are two description fields for each event: Brief Description and Event Description.

    Brief Description

The Brief Description is a short blurb which sums up the event. This should summarize the event in a few sentences. This will appear when viewing a list of events (Fig. 1)

    Event Description

The event description explains the in's and out's of the event. Who? What? When? Where? and most importantly WHY? A good description will include all the information you need to attend the event, but any questions should be directed towards the Contact listed in the event.

Remember: All inquiries about event details should be confirmed with the event organizer or the contact for the event. rideNAMA.com is not responsible for misinformation, so please check your facts!

    Suggestions when Creating an Event:

The Brief Description is limited to 250 characters, so make it short and sweet. The Brief Description will be visible when a user is browsing through the event catalog (Fig. 1).

When it comes to the Event Description, don't leave anything out! This is your space to put it all out there, prevent any confusion, and get everyone excited about your event. You can include details such as:

    -Directions

    -Cost

    -Start/End/Registration/Kickstands-Up Time

    -Mission Statement

    -Info about food

    -Links to hotel information

-Anything else that might help NAMA users or promote your event

Places are locations or stops that you make on your bike trips. Using the NAMA iPhone App, you can Check In to locations as you make your way around. Checking into locations can provide a means of keeping track of where you have been.

When checking in to a Place, you can add commentary, perhaps describing the quality of food, the scenery, or the level of accomodation for motorcyclists. This can help other riders when they find themselves looking to go somewhere you have already been. Similarly, you can take a look at other Places people have been in order to plan your trip.

The NAMA iPhone App will be available on the App Store soon.

A listing for a Road is meant to be a comprehensive description of a given route that is of interest to motorcyclists. We encourage users of rideNAMA.com to contribute their own Roads but ask that they provide as many details as possible when they create the listing for the Road. Please see our Help Section on adding a Road for assistance.

A complete Road listing will contain information about the route's difficulty, road surface, seasonal closings, cost, as well as directions to the Road and a Google Map of the exact route. Photos and videos of the Road may also be found in the Road listing.

User reviews of the Road may also be helpful in planning a trip to a new area. Roads may also be compared using the Compare feature on rideNAMA.com.

In order to define the exact route/location of a Road/Destination for which you are making a listing, you first need to go to Google Maps and create the map. Google Maps will generate an HTML code which can be copied into your listing on rideNAMA.com. This will create an interactive map of the Road you are adding.

Here's how to make and add the map to your posting.

Step-by-step Instructions for mapping a Road for your listing:

    1) Start by entering the start and end location of the Road/Destination in the "Get Directions" fields on Google Maps. If there is no address associated with the beginning or end, simply input a 'dummy' start and end location (Fig. 1). From here, you can drag the markers so that they are at the two ends of the route. You can also drag mid-sections of the route so that they exactly trace the route of the Road (Fig. 2).

    2) Once you are satisfied with the Google Map, click the icon that looks like a chain link and copy the HTML code (Fig. 3.)

    3) On rideNAMA.com, click the Overview Tab [Overview] tab while in the editor for the Road/Destiantion you are trying to map. Then, click the HTML icon [HTML] icon. A window will appear. Paste the HTML code from Google Maps (from step 2) into the window and click Update. (Fig. 4) *Note: If you are adding a New Road/Destination, you must first submit the form which asks for the Road's Title, description, etc... and then you will have access to the Overview Tab tab. If you have already added the Road, you can view the listing and click to access the Overview Tab tab.

    4) Click [Save Overview].

Now when the listing for this Road/Destination is viewed, the exact route/location will appear on an interactive Google Map.

If you are still having trouble, please email Roadster@rideNAMA.com with your issue.

If you Add a New Road, you will be brought to a page where you fill in all of the details of your Road (i.e. Road Name, Description, Location [which can be made more exact on the next page], Photo, etc...). Fill in all of the required fields and then click Submit. On the next page, you will be able to define the exact route of the Road.

If you are not sure how to complete a section of the New Road Listing, please refer to the Help section on Road Details. The details of a Road can be changed at any time by viewing the listing and clicking Edit.

    Next...

After clicking Submit you will be brought to a page where you can complete your New Road listing in the Dashboard for this listing. Here, the exact location and overview of the Road can be input. Furthermore, additional photos and videos of the Road can be added the the listing.

    Important Items in the Dashboard:

    - The exact location of the Road can be specified by going to the Location tab on the left side of the page. Provided you entered a location on the first page, you can drag the marker of the Google Map - which now appears - to the location of the Road. (This is helpful if there is no exact address of the Road)

    - The exact route of the Road can be defined in the Overview tab on the left of the page. Click Here for exact instructions on how to do this.

We have discovered a problem where your logo may disappear during the process of Creating An Event

This issue will affect you only under the following conditions:

When creating an Event, if you forget to fill in a required field (e.g. forgot to select a Start/End Time) or make an invalid entry into one of the fields, you will be asked to correct your submission. An Error Message error message will appear at the top of the page. If you had already selected a file to upload as the Event Logo before clicking Save Changes and then got an error message, the Event Logo will be erased. Therefore, you will need to re-select the image file you would like to use for your Event Logo, correct the error, and then click Save Changes to create the event. Every time you attempt to submit an Event with an error in one of the fields, the Event Logo will have to be re-selected.

If you create the event and forgot to re-select the Event Logo, you can always go back and edit the Event Details in order to add the Event Logo.
